A Cure For Insomnia

It's 2 am in the morning

When someone comes up with a cure for insomnia, they’ll make a fortune.

However, until then us night crawlers will continue to be driven mad by the sound of the ticking clock.

Two AM

Two in the morning,

It’s quiet ‘round here.

Two in the morning,

There’s no one to hear.

Two in the morning,

I’ll not make a peep,

Two in the morning,

I wish I could sleep.

Two in the morning,

The clock moves so slow.

Two in the morning,

Some memories won’t go.

Two in the morning,

There are secrets I keep.

Two in the morning,

I wish I could sleep.

Two in the morning,

A time to ask why?

Two in the morning,

You hear yourself sigh.

Two in the morning,

A good time to weep.

Two in the morning,

I wish I could sleep.

Two in the morning,

When you’re all alone.

Two in the morning,

Nobody to phone.

Two in the morning,

When life is so deep.

Two in the morning,

I wish I could sleep.

Two in the morning,

A good time to think.

Two in the morning,

A bad time to drink.

Two in the morning,

A time to count sheep.

It’s four in the morning,

I think I shall sleep.

  1. Great video, Derek! I’m an insomniac and you captured the feelings that go through your brain at that God-awful hour perfectly. Having an eight month old doesn’t help. Here’s to a cure. *raises glass*

  2. Everything seems worse at two in the morning doesn’t it? Everything you’re worrying about floats to the surface. Everything that annoys you, angers you, frustrates you – it all seems worse. So, is it really a bad time to drink? Yeah, it probably is.
Love the presentation and the ticking clock, black background. Really works for the subject.
