It is Wednesday today. A Wednesday just like any other. It has always been a nothing day to me. Neither close to a beginning or end. It can never do anything useful such as be added to a weekend to create a long weekend. It does not have a reputation for being a pay day. But I have to have one once a week. I don’t like Wednesdays.

When I was young and birthdays were important, I hated my birthday falling on a Wednesday. It was never a good day for a party. Wednesdays are still not a good day for a party.

I spoke to one of my best friends today. He is losing words. Just losing them. He finds them in his mind, but on the way to his mouth they get lost along the way. I know this could be serious. I know he has been under stress, and has all the factors conducive to a problem like this. Overweight, smoker, drinker, man and worrier for his family. It is typical of a Wednesday to receive news such as this. I am very worried for him.

I don’t like Wednesdays.

People are never at their friendliest on Wednesday. They are often at their grumpiest on Wednesdays.

I don’t like Wednesdays.

I don't mind them, but that is largely because Thursday is my favorite day… I like anticipating the weekend… Thursday is the BEST anticipation day and Wednesday is sort of like Thursday Eve… (I hope your friend's trouble was resolved)

Hi Derek. I agree with Hart Johnson as far as Wednesdays and Thursdays are concerned. Thursday is my favorite day of the week as well.
Bad news can come at anytime. Troubles do not take a day off…It's ( Just Life! ;)

I sincerely hope that your friends problem was easily rectifiable and not serious.

I won't comment on the day – that's not all that important….what is? that you could vocalise something that many of us have experienced or watched :
"He is losing words. Just losing them. He finds them in his mind, but on the way to his mouth they get lost along the way."
Brilliantly articulated and both moving and poignant

At my company, Wednesday is our Friday, so I generally enjoy Wednesday very much. On the deeper point, or Wednesday is Sunday. Bad news always comes on Sunday. I say we remove a day from the week and make it six days. That way there will be no more hump day blues for anyone.

I had a good Wednesday this week. They are hard work though. My house always looks a mess on Wednesdays! All the weekend baking is gone by Wednesday!

I hope you have a good Thursday. Glynis Smy (author)

Wednesdays are a mixed blessing here – very little writing gets done because there is no school on Wednesdays. Our house is wrecked every Wednesday by two tiny tornadoes in pink skirts. On Thursdays we put it all straight again. But the wrecking is quite good fun in itself. I was born on a Wednesday, so there must be something good to be said about it. Of course the downside is that I am utterly full of woe.
