The Return of the VandalI think I could use this famous Douglas Adams quote: ‘Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so’, and apply it to vacations. It hardly seems like four weeks since I sat at my laptop preparing a post. However I can happily report that I had a great time and even managed to squeeze in a little writing between lunches, dinners, BBQs, beers, family outings, grandkids, excessively late sleep ins and long flights.

But now that’s all in the past and it’s back to work and boy, do I have my plate full at the moment.

Firstly, I have to thank all of you who have bought my latest book, ‘One Last Love‘, and due to its popularity I have been working on releasing it in paperback. So if you still prefer to read a real book, it should be available in a few weeks.

Then there are the three books I currently have in my work in progress queue. Yes, three. Don’t ask me why, but suffice to say this does explain why I get awfully confused at times and have no idea where I’m going or what I’m doing. But somehow, books seem to pop out from the queue from time to time.

Then there is my other hat. Teaching. My hours spent teaching each week are increasing, and as a result I have less time available for some of my other projects both online and offline. Although a difficult decision to make, this will mean that The Vandal will no longer be a daily blog. However, don’t panic as there will still be a few posts each week as well as short stories to keep your RSS feed ticking over.

So thank you all for staying tuned to The Vandal and I look forward to getting back into the swing of things again.

Derek, I’m enjoying reading your ebook and I usually like to buy the paperback too, so I’m pleased ‘One Last Love’ will be available soon. It would make a nice gift.
    Welcome back! :)

Good to see you back – wondered where your posts had gone. I can relate to having 3 books going at once. If a reader can do it, why not a writer – ok , so there’s a lot more involved , but sometimes I’m just in the mood for something different. I’m working on 2. Or should I saying I’m finishing the first shitty draft on one & then need to re-edit the other one. Does that count?

Welcome back Derek! I am glad you got some much needed time away, we wouldn’t want you to “burn out”! Did you go through internet withdrawal? Simply living life for awhile definitely helps me look within and gain perspective, I always come out stronger and more optimistic. Looking forward to more “Vandal”! ☮ ~Anne
