Happy Holidays
Even old Vandals need a break from running amok sometimes. After a year of daily rants, moans, grumbles, poems, how to’s, laughs and general mayhem with words, it’s time for me to take my disagreeable disposition on an agreeable vacation.

2011 has been a great year for my blog. With so many new readers and such wonderfully interactive comments, it has been a pleasure to find material each and every day. Looking back to when I started this blog in 2009, I couldn’t have imagined it would attract such a broad and loyal readership. As blogging has become so intertwined with social media nowadays, it is thanks to the connectivity of Twitter, Facebook, Stumbleupon, Digg and many other sites that I have been fortunate enough to connect with all of you.

To each and every one of you I say thank you for making 2011 such an enjoyable year of blogging for me.

Over the holiday season I plan to put my feet up, close the lid on my laptop and relax with my wife, who has been so tolerant of my late nights, grumpy moods and incessant clacking keyboard. It will also be a break for Yalla, my personal canine assistant, who has had to act as a sounding board for almost every one of my posts and often patiently waits with his legs crossed as I forgot about his walk time.

Will The Vandal be back in 2012? You bet your boots he will. And probably just as grumpy as ever. But in the meantime I’ve decided that The Vandal can’t stay silent for even a few weeks, so I have planned a devilishly clever ‘Best of The Vandal’ series to make sure you don’t all run away and forget me. Every now and again, with the aid of incredibly clever technology I might add, one of the more than 700 frightfully brilliant posts from The Vandal will magically get posted to Twitter. So watch out, and while you’re enjoying re-runs, I’ll be enjoying being happily horizontal.

So then, I wish you all a very happy holiday season and in whatever your custom or tradition, and hope you thouroughly enjoy your time with your families and friends.

See you all in January 2012!

Happy Christmas Yalla. Don’t forget to drag the old bloke behind you when you need to go ‘walkies’ mate. He will probably need to clear his head from all the food and booze he consumes. On second thoughts, get mum to carry you and put your collar round the bosses neck. :D

A merry woof, woof to you.

Life is a matter of “work” but not at all time we need to focus from these. Let’s give our selves a “Break” that will help us in continue making the beautiful progression.
