I’ll share a secret with you. My blog posts are normally written in the morning. Shortly after my habitual breakfast of extremely good bread, orange juice, and two cups of even better coffee. When I am at my absolute best and brightest.
Today however, everything got out of order somehow and I find myself writing this post at 9:30pm after two cans of beer, a shared bottle of very good Swiss red and now a bottle of Rosé just to freshen the palette. Luckily, I decided to write before the coffee and digestive. That would have been suicidal.
So, the subject for the day has to be alcohol. Well, naturally. There is nothing else on my mind, so what do you expect me to do? Invest all this consumed alcohol into a process of dissecting economic policy in the developing world?
Suffice to say that sometimes, when the need arises, there are times when escapism is necessary, and the simplest and most politically accepted manner of achieving this is to open a bottle of very good wine. Followed by an even more politically correct bottle of cognac.
So, therefore members of the jury, I rest my case. And shortly, my head as well!
